1) What are the
behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of
this course?
I have definitely learned time management skills from this
course because it is an online class. With so many assignments due on one day,
it is important to stay on top of them and do them throughout the week. For
instance, right now we have 3 assignments due on Friday because of hurricane
Irma. I try to do all 3 assignments on Thursday and Friday because I do not
have class either of these days. Balancing the assignments out is what helps me
get through the class easier.
2) Talk about a
moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you
through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past
two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
This semester has not been too hard for me because I am not
taking too many classes, but I have still felt like giving up. After studying
countless days for my managerial accounting exam, I seemed to have received the
score of a 77, which surprised me very much. After hearing what good grades my
friends got with the same amount of studying, I wanted to give up on school. I
have to accept the fact that I am not a great test taker and need to study more
than a lot of people. I do feel like I have had a tenacious attitude going into
this year and it has only grown.
3) What are three
tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills
that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset'?
Three tips I would offer to next semester’s student are as
followed:
-
Balance is the key to success because nobody
should be too involved in school and nobody should be behind in school. Find a
balance that will allow you to support tenacity.
-
To develop the tenacious mindset, you must plan
out your days and when you are going to do things. That is the best way to stay
on schedule and keep doing well in all areas of life.
-
Don’t procrastinate and stay on top of things is
my final tip!
Hey Amanda, I really liked your halfway reflection! I also learned quite a bit of time management from this course. I agree that balancing out the assignments helps make the work more manageable. I know that planning out what I will do in advance and keeping a calendar of assignments has been incredibly helpful to be successful in this course.
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda,
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading your posts! Your three tips couldn't have been better. Balance is very important in life. Too much or too little of anything can kill a person. I always plan out my days with my calendar. I am never late with assignments because of that and it keeps me from procrastinating. I have never been a fan of procrastinating, but it happens sometimes without me realizing!
