1)
Self-Assessment:
·
Competitive:
I believe my dedication to tennis over the year’s shows my competitive nature.
I do not like losing, as does nobody, but I am extremely competitive to the
point where I will do anything to win. Playing sports all my life shows me how
competitive I am. Also, with school or anything activity I am involved in, I
constantly want to do better than the people I am with.
·
Driven:
I do not give up on things even if I really want to. I’m sure everybody at UF
is also very driven because it is such a hard school to get into. Being driven
means that nothing will stop you to reach your goal.
·
Friendly:
I am very friendly with people I know and with new people. I try to be
open-minded and see everybody as the same. I try to be friendly even when
people are being rude to me. I believe kindness wins in any battle.
·
Optimistic:
There are a lot of negative things people can focus on in the world; so looking
at the positive things is not easy. It is hard to look past the negatives
because they appear vividly to most people. I believe that with everything I
have in the world I should never deserve to be negative.
·
Balanced:
I know there is more to life than school and I know there is more to life than
having fun. There is a very distinct boundary to where people can have too much
fun or get too involved in school.
2)
Interviews:
My key take away from this video is that I am hardworking. No matter what
other people are doing, I try to maintain a good work effort. I also keep my
family and friends life very balanced. Overall, I would say this interview gave
me more of a feeling that I am balanced.
My key take away from this interview is that I am competitive and
genuine. Also, I know the value of money and I am compassionate about people
and animals.
In this interview, I was told that my work ethic is very good under
pressure. I was told I succeed expectations when in-group projects as I was
with this interviewee.
What made me different according to this individual is my time management
and self-confidence. Delton said that tennis really helped me be a self made
person and a social person.
Out of this interview, I learned that I am careful with my money like
someone else told me. This trait seemed to stick with me. I also learned that I
am competitive which I said before.
3)
Reflection:
There most definitely are differences in how
I see myself and how others see me. I did not see myself as being a self-made
person as my fourth interviewee states, but I can see how he says this. I think
there are differences because we tend to vision our selves one way and not see
our selves from another point of view. I think the interviewees are correct
about me because they see me from an outsider’s point of view. Going back to
part 1, I would keep my list the same because I think the words I used
summarizes a lot about what my interviewees said about me.
Hi Amanda,
ReplyDeleteAll of your qualities that you listed are very valuable in life and in the business/career life. Everything requires balance to lead a mentally and physically healthy lifestyle. Being competitive and driven are two great qualities especially when put together because I believe nothing can stop that person from achieving what they want. It is great when others notice your hard work ethic and seeing how people see you. It can give insight to who you are and how you work under pressure. With multiple points of view of you, you can figure out what you need to work on and improve and what qualities you can use to get things done!
Hey Amanda,
ReplyDeleteI thought they way you see yourself and the way others see you was pretty spot on. You seem very genuine and determined. I'd love to have a better balance of my work and life the way you do. All these traits about you would be a perfect fit for your food truck. I believe the food truck industry is pretty competitive, especially in Miami, FL. Having good work ethic is something I believe I handle well just like you. It's great to see that women are determined and driven because it is highly needed in the corporate world.
It's awesome to know a little more about you. Keep up the great work!
Hi Amanda,
ReplyDeleteGreat analysis! It's clear that you are pretty self aware of your own human capital judging from how your thoughts reflected those of those individuals closest to you. Its hard sometimes, to be competitive while coming off as friendly as people perceive your determination to win as just the opposite. However, your last trait, that of balance, shows that you manage to do both perfectly. That tenacity you talk of is extremely important in entrepreneurship and I am eager to see how you continue to apply yourself in this class with those attributes. Looking forward to hearing more from you in the future!
