Motivation for community to be healthy
VRIN: This resource is valuable because in order to run a
healthy food truck, I need to be motivated to make the community love healthy
food as much as I do. This is rare because many people in America tend to favor
unhealthy food options. This resource is not hard to copy because anyone can
choose to eat healthy. Other resources will not provide the same benefits
because this is a self taught resource.
2)
Motivation to be environmentally friendly
VRIN: This is valuable because being environmentally
friendly will attract worldly customers. This is rare because many farms do not
treat their animals well. This is not hard to copy because any farm can do it.
Other resources can provide the same benefits like going to different farms,
but the motivation to want to use farm fresh items comes from inside.
3)
Organizational culture I intend to create is a
well-balanced lifestyle for employees
VRIN: This is valuable because company culture is very
important and can make or break a company. It is rare because a lot of
companies do not care for their employees as much as they should. It is
imitable and other resources can provide the same benefits because if a company
wants to help employees then they have the option to do so.

The Knowledge of eating healthy
VRIN: This is valuable because it is what the healthy food
truck is about. This is rare because along with people not caring to eat
healthy, they do not know how to eat healthy or what healthy food is. It is not
imitable and other resources cannot replace it because it must be taught.
5)
Education in marketing and finance to get the
word out about the company
VRIN: This is valuable because when opening a business I
must know about the background of how to get the word out. It is rare because a
lot of people in the world do not have a background in this area. It is
imitable because anyone can get a degree, but other resources unlike college
cannot provide the same knowledge.
6)
Employees will be a lot of my family (family
business)
VRIN: This is valuable and rare because there will be a
connection with employees right away. This is not imitable and other resources
cannot provide this. Having a family connection is very special.
7)
Partner with schools and organizations
VRIN: This is valuable and rare because it is how we will
get the word out about the food truck and many businesses to not connect with
other organizations. This is imitable because any business can do so, but other
resources can not provide this connection.
8)
Apparent throughout the community
VRIN: This is valuable and rare because a small healthy food
truck getting known in the community can be very important. This is imitable, but
other resources cannot provide this because it is up the marketing team to get
the word out.
9)
Work with other healthy food places and
outsource materials from them.
VRIN: This is valuable and rare because working with other
businesses that are competitors might seem like a strange thing to do. This is
not imitable and cannot be achieved through other resources because contacting
these other healthy food places is the only way to know their background.
10)
Connection with local gyms
VRIN: This is valuable and rare because having local connects
with also get the word out like many of my other resources. This is not imitable
nor can other resources provide the same benefits. Connections with local gyms
will grow our customer basis and grow our company from more than just a food
truck.
My top resource:
Education in marketing and finance to get the word out about
the company is my top resource. This social capital resource is more important
than any of my other resources because I believe when it comes to opening a new
business or selling a new product that it is all about marketing. Anyone can
start a business but the people you get to come to it are the reason a business
does well.
Hello there Amanda! I know I'm not one of your usuals, but the people in my group hadn't made any posts yet, so I was happy to look at yours! I like that you said the social capital was your most important strength, because really an invention is as good as the person behind it. If you've got the personality to push something to the top, that itself is a huge advantage rather than trying to let it speak for itself and hope people take notice. Take care!

ReplyDeleteYou have some great resources. I believe all of these are top resources. Partnering with schools would be awesome because a food truck with healthy options looks appealing to children. Having a food truck on campus would generate a lot of profit for you too. You have many connections which is very valuable to have when starting up a business. Your motivation is what drives your business. I really enjoyed reading all the resources you have.

That is very valuable to have when starting a business. You have a lot of connections as well, which I think would help get the word out and promote your business.
Hi Amanda! I really enjoyed reading your post about your venture’s unfair advantage! You identified some interesting points that I wouldn’t have thought of. In particular, I thought your ideas to partner with schools and the local community were awesome. I also think partnering with local gyms and other health-related organizations like running clubs would be beneficial to your company. I agree that your education is your top resource!
